Plans and lists

Travel seems to involve a lot of lists. Places to go, flights, visas, jabs, bank accounts, shopping lists, packing lists... on a rainy November evening the day before we set off, here is a list of things I won't miss:

• my job
• the weather*
• commuting
• getting up in time to commute every day

* I reserve the right to miss the British weather every time I'm too hot or too cold or there's a different kind of rain that's just as bad

And here's a list of things I will miss:

• proper beer, which I may not see again for seven months
  
• my friends and family

So here's to proper beer with friends and family - something to look forward to in 2010.
