Catching up

My original bright idea was to write some draft posts on my phone, upload them whenever I had a wifi connection, then finish them off and add photos when I could get to a proper PC. In practice proper PCs are thin on the ground and I have a big backlog.
So I'm going to post a few drafts and note at the top that there are photos to be added. If you're impatient, read now but come back to these draft posts later for pictures!
